Frisbee or Football Golf / Environmental Project
16th December 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Group 1 – Frisbee Golf at Queen Charlottes Wood
Meet at Queen Charlottes’ Wood, 19:00, pick up 20:30. I will need another adult to stay, as there’s only me as a Leader at the moment. Wednesday 9th is not forecasted to be below freezing, but there is a 20% chance of rain, so dress warmly and bring a rainproof coat please. The frisbee golf course is within the wooded section on the edge of the main green, it is very muddy, so bring wellies if you can or sturdy shoes which will get muddy.
My risk assessment says you should bring your own small personal first aid kit, which cuts down on the coronavirus risks if you can clean and administer your own plaster to any minor cuts, and you should bring a small bottle of hand sanitiser. Bring your own drinks and snacks, take all rubbish home with you. There are toilets on site, you will need to bring your facemask in order to use them.
Parents – There will be another Scout Group on site (Explorer unit) so please try to remain in cars as you arrive and collect, to cut down on people mixing on site. I will ask your Scout to stand behind the barrier off the car park so that there is little risk of traffic incidents.
Group 2 – Environmental Project
Environmental Project for those at home.
We would normally undertake litter picking, tree planting, or gardening type tasks but options are limited at the moment. However, you can take part in a number of digital initiatives to count wildlife sightings. See:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/breathingplaces/wildlife_survey/
for ways to take part in wildlife surveys. Let me know what you picked and how you got on, this activity counts towards the ‘World’ challenge badge.
