Mapwork and Orienteering – Castle Park

Hello – in a change to planned Environmental work, due to my risk assessment visit falling through, I’ve decided to run this week in Castle Park.
Meet at the car park at 19:00 and finish there at 20:30
It’s likely to rain, so bring a waterproof coat, and a headtorch (or other torch) and if you could bring a clear plastic bag like a sandwich or freezer bag to put your map in, that would be great.
We will be doing a combination of some more advanced mapwork techniques like walking on a bearing, adjusting for magnetic variation, tabbing round an obstruction and counting paces over 100m, plus we’ll have a go at the orienteering course.
