Cubs online – staying healthy
2nd April 2020
We will invest the new Cubs somehow!
The skills work for this week are:
Take part in three activities to help you be healthy, like:
healthy eating
exercise
learning how the human body works
Pick two creative things to try, and show your leader what you’ve done. You could:
write a short story
make a model
take some photos and use them to tell a story
be part of a play or sketch.
Task 1:
Take a photo of 5 healthy food items and 5 that we should eat less of. Upload this in Badges at home on OSM or send by email/WhatsApp.
Task 2:
Try to check your pulse or feel how fast your heart is beating.
Carry out the following exercises:
1-Jog on the spot while at counting to 10
2-Do 5 star jumps
3-Sit on the floor and stand up again 3 times
Repeat the three items
Check you pulse again
Task 3:
Discuss why your pulse / heart was beating faster at the end of task 2 and why we need to exercise with an adult.
Both you and your adult stand up, each raise on arm straight up over your heads and keep the other by your side.
Sing your favourite camp song or any other song holding your hand still in the air.
Then compare the colour of your hands.
Discuss why there is a difference.
Task 4:
You should have completed a Lego model and sent a picture, which is one of the creative tasks.
Please chose another from:’
– write a short story
– take some photos and use them to tell a story
– be part of a play or sketch, ask someone to film it!
For this task please send it to me and let me know if I can forward it on to an elderly care home to cheer them up.
