Buoyancy Aid Issue – Group 1 and 2

31st March 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Hello!
This is the first ‘Face to Face’ for a while. Although guidance says we can now have unlimited numbers, we still have to keep social distance outside and wear face masks indoors, so accordingly I still have to consider whether the venue will allow us to keep social distance. We have 22 attendees plus adults and young leaders, so on balance I think the garden of the Scout Hut is probably not big enough to keep 25 plus people socially distanced.
I will therefore keep up the two groups for this session – half a session each.
Group 1 19:00 to 19:45
Group 2 19:45 to 20:30
As before, enter via the side ‘Anchor’ gate, sanitise hands, bring a face mask in order to enter the building and use the toilets, leave via the large side gate.
Future sessions away from the hut in free outdoor space, such as water activities, trips to Queen Charlottes Wood and hikes should not need to be restricted to 15 people under current guidance.
This week we will be doing some simple cooking on fires. We will be making camp fire bread and Smores and we will be issuing you with a Buoyancy Aid to take home.
Please bring a small-ish receptacle in which to mix your bread ingredients, such as a sandwich box, or small plastic bowl. I will supply the ingredients. If you have allergies or food intolerances, make sure your details are up to date.
We will keep a note of the number of the buoyancy aid, and will want it returned in good condition at the end of boating season.
If you wish to use your own buoyancy aid and helmet, we will need to see these before allowing you on the water. (For insurance reasons)
